![]() All members share a passion for New Orleans music creating a musical experience never to be forgotten. ![]() In 2017, Tower Theatre returned as a live music, movie and event venue in the heart of OKC's Uptown 23rd district. After many years of movie premieres and historic runs of classic films, the Tower Theatre closed in 1989. ![]() The Tower Theater of Weslaco has been updated with acoustical spray, a professional lighting system, air conditioning, risers for seating, and many other improvements throughout the years. The historic Tower Theatre opened in 1937 and is one of Oklahoma City's last original movie houses with an intact auditorium and iconic neon marquee. The Tower hosts 6 productions each year as well as a variety of summer programs for. The first performance was held April 2, 1970. A beautiful new theater located on the campus of Liberty University. The Tower Garrison Blues Nights, in association with Rebel Arts, continues this August with The Native Oysters Band, + support coming from Jem Turpin & Andy Neate.įormed originally as a community street band for the Whitstable Oyster Festival parade, the Native Oysters have evolved to become a funky, electrifying experience with tight, powerful horn arrangements and creamy, soulful vocals from traditional second-line classics through Americana, 70s funk, right up to full on hip-hop and R&B, all given the Delta city treatment, Whitstable style.įounder members, saxophonists Ivan Thompson and Katy Windsor have been the driving force, along with drummer Alan King, adding along the way, lead singer and trumpeter, David Migden helicon player Russ Kennedy tuba player, Tom Pascoe and guitarist Steven Higgs. The Tower Theater of Weslaco became the home of the Mid-Valley Civic Theatre in 1969.
